Biography of Taj Mohammed
Taj Mohammed (Dip. Ed, BA, MA, BGS, FICB) received his education from Fiji, Canada and the USA. He spent most of his life in teaching and administration. Taj started in Fiji as a high school teacher then moved to Canada (1988) to become the Principal of the BC Muslim School (BCMS) for 2 years, a board member of the BCMS for 5 years; the Principal of the Islamic College of BC in Hope for 6 years and the principal of Surrey Muslim School (SMS) for 2 years. Then he moved to Alberta and became the Principal of Fort McMurray Islamic School which is managed jointly by the Fort McMurray Public School Board and the Muslim Community. Islamic education has been the cornerstone of his life. He is a strong advocate of early childhood education. He has done extensive research in this field, particularly, with “Project Headstart.” Taj supports curriculum reformation of Muslim Schools and he joined the Q – cip team as a general editor on May 22, 2010.
